When times change, adapt.

On my previous blog post “Calm with in a Storm” I talked about being at peace within. This blog post has a lot to do with being calm and peaceful when adversity strikes.

Adversity will strike unexpectedly, its our reaction towards it that makes all difference.

We are already hardwired to live a routine life. So when adversity strikes, it interrupts our routine and causes us to react.

Adversity comes in many forms: failures, lay-offs, rejections, setbacks, delays.

The way we react comes from the way we choose to see it. Instead of seeing what happend as unfortunate, see it as a change. Change is good; it makes us grow & become stronger.

Things always happen for a reason, and its usually because what ever WAS there before weren’t in the cards for you.

Life is full of surprises, and it could either break us, or make us break through!

There’s a Silverster Stallon quote I got from the movie Rocky that I know by heart that relates to this:

“Let me tell you something you already know… the world is a mean and nasty place & I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or anyone isn’t gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you get hit, its about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much you could take and keep moving forward, that’s how winning is done!”

I’d put the link to the video here but I don’t want you to get distracted and not read my post. ill put the video at the bottom 😉

I don’t know about you but I want to breakthrough and keep moving forward!

There is no education like adversity

For every failure, set back, layoff, delay, rejection or set back there’s a lesson learned. It was put there so that you can learn from it.

Life is a school. It never stops teaching us, we just have to be willing to want to learn from it and make an effort to let it empower us.

I don’t have an answer to coping with the unexpected adversity. It is bound to happen, all I could really recommend from my experience is to let yourself feel but always keep in mind that it’s not over. That if you got a family to feed, bills to pay, and other worries- there is always a way.

I want you to try something next time you get hit with adversity.

Start complaining, crying, and telling everyone how much its affected you. Keep focusing on it and see how it creates a block.

Then when you’re done, smile and tell yourself you’ll find a way. After all, if you lose everything and still have you’re life you haven’t lost it all.

Without life you wouldn’t have chances to get it all back, you wouldn’t be able to start over.

Having life is a reason to not stress bills and other material things.

Every Adversity has a greater benefit

So the next time you ask “Why Me” know that it’s a sign to adapt to change & grow.

Adversity pushes us to our limits. It can come disguised as the worst experience, but when we see past that there’s a hidden purpose for that.

As long as we know that there’s light at the end of the tunnel, that’s all that matters!

The world can be falling apart, and if you’re calm within the storm, you’ll see the light and know exactly what to do.

When thoughts become too much to bear, just stop what you’re doing, go to a quite place and just listen to your deep breaths- MEDITATE. 🙂

I’m already doing it, and it’s working for me! Let me know how it goes!

Here’s the link to the video of Silvester Stallon. Enjoy 🙂
